An accomplished singer and songwriter in his own right, he began his singing career with the ‘The Long John Baldry Band’. This exposed him to numerous television, theatre, nightclub and music festival appearances, and he experienced the world of band touring at a young age and soaked up all the experience and knowledge that he could.

Subsequently, he was signed by Long John’s management as a solo artist and went on to experience and enjoy an extensive solo singing career recording songs with many top record labels including; CBS, PYE, Decca, Bluebird.

His early experiences at such a young age taught him so much about the music business and set him up for his future career.

Likened to Rod Stewart on so many occasions due to his physical and facial likeness and his vocal similarity, he decided to audition to appear on the Granada TV series Stars In Their Eyes.
